Message	Auto ratios: 1st: 2.785 2nd: 1.545 3rd: 1 4th: .694 5spd ratios: 1st: 3.21 2nd: 1.93 3rd: 1.3 4th: 1 5th .75 As you can see, the 5spd has much shorter gearing which, given the same amount of HP should accelerate you more quickly. Not to mention the auto tranny sucks more power. The only good thing in it's favor is that it't theoretical top speed may be higher because of it's final gearing.
